The political scientist and president of the Bolivarian Society, Carlos Guevara Mann, assured that Panama could host the celebration of the bicentennial of the Amphictyonic Congress of American States, which will take place this year.
He explained that 200 years after Simón Bolívar’s libertarian Movement, many Latin American countries remain under dictatorship, which is why unity among peoples is necessary to guarantee democracy.
He also highlighted that in recent decades the populist movement emerged in Venezuela trying to usurp the name of Bolivarianism. They identify narco-Chavismo with the figure of Bolívar; That goes against Bolívar’s principles.
Guevara Mann said that political campaigns are a business, some politicians enter the race to get rich and assures that there are people who specialize in obtaining donations to keep a part of them.
