Guasu Front will not support Godoy's reelection

At the end of October, the Constitutional Affairs Commission selected 13 candidates out of 78 candidates for the position of ombudsman.

Today, Tuesday, through an extraordinary session, the senators will have to choose the shortlist that they will send to the Chamber of Deputies.

NEGATIVE
The Guasu Front bench took a stand on the choice of the shortlist. The spokesperson was Senator Sixto Pereira, who announced that they will vote for the shortlist to be made up of Óscar Ayala, Rolón Luna and Diana Vargas.

In addition, he pointed out that there are rumors that some banks plan to include Godoy to join the list. Considering that everything will be defined in the Chamber of Deputies where the Colorados have a large majority.

“There are rumors that some benches will support the reelection of Godoy. We believe that the Ombudsman’s Office must have suitable people, who have the profile and are from the opposition, “he said.

WITHOUT QUORUM
Martín Arévalo, national senator for the ANR, warned that there are possibilities that today the shortlist will not be defined and the election will be postponed for one to two weeks at the request of several benches.
