Guasu Front will integrate the Coalition

During a meeting of progressive movements, where authorities from the Guasu Front and the “Ñemongueta for a New Homeland” political group were present, they decided to accept the sector’s entry into the Coalition.

On Wednesday, June 22, they will formalize the entry through the signing of the document.

“We have already made an approach that has already reached the Coalition. The accepted modality of elections is to go to December 18 in an internal one between the opposition candidates”, commented Fernando Lugo, national senator for the Guasu Front.

He pointed out that the 14 parties that make up the Guasu Front and the Ñemongueta, complicated the negotiations due to the high number of different thoughts. But finally, they were able to break the impasse on Wednesday afternoon, to decide, by a large majority, to join the Coalition.

“Already in communication with Efraín Alegre, we remain on a provisional agenda where the participation certificate can be signed within the Coalition and on Wednesday we will make the registration,” he said.

It remains to be defined whether the progressive parties will only participate in the Coalition during the election of presidential badges, or whether they will also do so based on their parliamentary lists. According to comments from several legislators, it is more likely that these parties will present their own list of parliamentarians, regardless of what the Concertación proposes. Although this is not official yet.
