The Guasu Front and the “Ñemongeta for a New Homeland” formalized yesterday afternoon their entry into the Coalition of opposition parties. The act took place in the auditorium of the Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE) and consisted of the signing of the parties and movements that make up the Guasu Front and the “Ñemongeta for a New Homeland” to the Concertation of Opposition Parties who will dispute the presidential elections of 2023.
In this way, the entry of the organizations that make up these spaces into the Opposition Concertation is made official and formalized.
The 14 presidents of the parties and movements that make up the FG and the Ñemongeta participated in the act, as well as the parties and movements that already make up the Concertación.
The central words of the act were given by Senator Fernando Lugo, president of the Guasu Front, and Senator Esperanza Martínez, presidential candidate proposed by the Ñemongeta.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, at nine in the morning, Concertación authorities will sign their registration in the Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE). Although the deadline to do so is this end of the month (Thursday, June 30), the leaders of the Concertación want to register the Concertación as soon as possible in order to anticipate and solve any documentary problems that may arise.
In contact with the media, Lugo announced that he could lead the list for the Senate. Taking into account that the FG and Ñemongeta only plan to join the Concertación to define presidential badges. But not so for Parliament lists.
The list would be as follows; Lugo, Sixto Pereira and Hugo Richer in the first places. Pedro Santacruz, would leave the PDP and go to the FG.
CONGRESS
Yesterday afternoon, Salyn Buzarquis, a national senator for the PLRA, confirmed that he will head the list for Parliament for Efrainism. In second place will be Celeste Amarilla, current national deputy. In third and fourth place will be Senators José “Pakova” Ledesma and Hermelinda Alvarenga. In fifth place will be Yellow Leader, former candidate for governor of Central.
Another novelty that occurred in the Coalition yesterday, Hugo Estigarribia, former senator for the ANR, registered his “Free Republicans” movement. Estigarribia sounds like a possible presidential duo for Efraín Alegre for the upcoming internal elections on December 18.
“We are convinced that there is no way to change the Party from within, nor to propose better candidates for political representation. It is subject to a business group and a group that seeks power to continue with more acts of corruption, ”he said.
MORE DETAILS
It is not yet defined if the Concertación will reach the internal elections on December 18. This, because there are parties that want to define, through consensus, the presidential badge. This, in order not to waste potential candidates who can aspire to Congress.
