The governor of the Guárico state, José Vásquez, announced that, during the assemblies held in the 15 municipalities of the Guariqueña region, popular power elected 1,732 heads of communities in the entity.
In order to offer a balance of the recent elections of the heads of communities, this Tuesday, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) of the Guárico state, held a meeting with the media, from the facilities of the Hugo Chávez room, located in the Olympic City of San Juan de los Morros.
He stressed that, for each elected community leader, 3 more members were elected, who make up the Agitation, Propaganda and Communication (APC) team, these being the representatives of organization, mobilization and training within the socialist party.
At the same time, he explained that this mechanism was executed in the election of street leaders, and will be executed in the renewal of Hugo Chávez Battle Unit chiefs, as well as in the election of the PSUV state and national team.
Women assume new leadership of the PSUV in Guárico
He specified that 81% of the structures elected in the renewal process are ratified, while 19% are new leaderships. Likewise, he explained that 71% of the renovated structures are women, and 29% are Guariqueño men.
Given this, he congratulated the women for the performance they have had during the election process in the town of Llanes. “I congratulate the women. Honor and recognition to Guariqueña women,” said Vásquez.
391 young people recruited in elections
At the same time, he noted that the party, with these internal elections, has captured 391 young people from 16 to 30 years of age, which represents 12% of the results obtained to date.
He also pointed out that they have almost 99% of the assemblies systematized, however, he explained that they have verified and verified the completion of the remaining days, which they estimate to register in the system in the next few hours.
At the same time, the regional president stressed that about 170,000 militants have participated in the renewal of the base structures of the Chavista party, assuring that this is the data handled by the state team so far.
Meanwhile, he congratulated and thanked the militants of the political organization for the participation they have had during the process of renewing the base structures of the red awning.
Vásquez clarified that the renewal elections are only for the base structures of the PSUV, indicating that they are not linked to the Local Committee for Supply and Production (Clap), Communal Councils and other grassroots organizations of popular power. “Let’s not confuse that electing the head of the community is electing the head of the Clap, no,” stressed the governor.
He pointed out that there may be the possibility that the street leader or community chief is the same head of the Clap, however, the responsibilities are not the same.

Before the renewal assemblies of heads of Battle Units, Hugo Chávez, which will take place on September 3, stated that each UBCH will be chosen by the articulation of 4 to 12 communities, who will have the task of renewing 463 Units of Battle.
“The UBCH allow to articulate everything political that leads to the victory of the party, that is the main objective,” said Vásquez.
In this order of ideas, he announced that after the election of the heads of UBCH, they will execute the swearing-in of all the elected base structures, to then continue the renewal of the state teams and the national team of the red awning.
In the same way, Vásquez recognized the work of those people who were part of the party, but who were not elected in the new renewal process. “We must recognize the work they have been doing for all these years, which is a fundamental part of the party,” he said.
The plains executive made a call “to conscientiously choose that man, woman or young person with the characteristics that correspond to him,” he emphasized.
