Likewise, Guaidó stated that his duty as president in charge and of Parliament is to submit the proposals of the deputies for consideration.
“This is not about Juan Guaidó. The discussion is not whether I play one role or another. It is about defending the institution that offers the possibilities of achieving change and defending democracy”, he pointed out.

At noon this Wednesday, deputies from the parties Un Nuevo Tiempo (UNT), Primero Justicia (PJ), Acción Democrática (AD) and Movimiento por Venezuela (MPV) proposed a reform of the Statute Governing the Transition to Democracy that would imply the elimination of the interim and a change in the functioning of Parliament to now focus on the protection of active abroad.
In a press conference called by these four parties, the deputy Alfonso Marquina, a member of the PJ, said that the reform proposes maintaining the activity of the AN elected in 2015, which would extend for three more years than the five years established by the Constitution, under the argument that the AN elected in 2020 that manages Chavismo is unconstitutional.
