Guaidó finished tour of Washington in search of “free elections” in Venezuela

After his arrival on May 2, the opposition leader who until a few months ago was recognized as interim president by the United States, Juan Guaidó, ended his tour of Washington where he raised the voices of millions of Venezuelans calling for free elections and a change democratic in the country.

In the meetings, he ratified the need to strengthen unity for the primary. Also, he urged to keep up the pressure with all international mechanisms.

He began his activities by participating in the Annual Conference of the Americas at the headquarters of the Organization of American States, where he was received by its Secretary General, Luis Almagro, who praised his courage. In a brief intervention, Guaidó highlighted the defense of human rights carried out by this body, he also urged to continue with the work.

In compliance with his agenda, he gave a speech at the Wilson Center and at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in which he highlighted the importance of international support so that “Venezuela does not become the next Nicaragua.” He stressed that it is necessary to continue with the negotiations, the sanctions to promote the celebration of the primary.
