Guaidó blames Maduro for the death of Venezuelans in Darien

According to the National Migration Service of Panama, in the first five months of this 2022, 32,797 migrants have entered; of which 16,720 are Venezuelans. Only in May, detailed the agency 9,844 entered; that means that Venezuelan refugees represented 71% of the total.

Recent figures from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) assure that until June of this year, “28,079 Venezuelans have crossed the Darién jungle, doubling the figures for 2021.”

The Darien jungle is one of the most dangerous roads in the world due to its geographical characteristics and the presence of organized crime; Those who travel this route are exposed to risks such as trafficking, sexual and other violence, exploitation, abuse and even risk their lives.
