Guabirá had no margin for error and did not fail, beating Wilstermann 3-1 and achieving three vital points in their fight to avoid indirect relegation. A double from Gustavo Peredo and a goal from Alejandro Quintana led to the sugar victory at the close of date 27 of the Clausura tournament.
After Real Santa Cruz’s direct relegation was completed, Guabira faces an arduous battle with Royal Pari to avoid falling into indirect relegation. The real estate companies also delivered on Wednesday after surprisingly beating Aurora in Cochabamba and still keep their hopes alive of leaving penultimate place. The sugar bowl has 38 points, five more than Royal (33).
The decisive match for both will be on date 29, where they will meet in Montero. The team that is in second-to-last place must play round-trip matches with Totora Real Oruro, the runner-up of the Simón Bolívar Cup.
The match
Gustavo Peredo opened the score (1-0) at 37 minutes of the first half with a powerful shot from his right foot that hit the left post of the goal defended by goalkeeper Arnaldo Giménez.
It wouldn’t take long for Guabira to find the second conquest, and it was again thanks to Peredo who took advantage of a bad start by Giménez to hang the ball over the defense and the goalkeeper himself (2-0).
In the complementary stage Wilstermann achieved the discount through Rudy Cardozo who took a shot that overcame the resistance of local goalkeeper Manuel Ferrel. However, shortly after, Guabira achieved the final 3-1, taking advantage of another error by Giménez who botched the ball with his feet, leaving Alejandro Quintana with the chance to score. The Argentine was not wrong and settled the lawsuit.
