Waltersilio Rodrigues, better known as Coutinho, He left this world at 82 years of age. The Brazilian who lived in Bolivia for almost five decades lost his life this Friday in the city of Montero, as a result of a decompensation, after a few days of having undergone surgery for a fracture.

Couthino was very loved in Montero because he was the coach with whom Guabirá won the national title in 1975. He was born in Anápolis (Goiás State) in the center-east of Brazil, near the capital Brasilia.

He played for Ferroviario de Assis (San Pablo) in 1962, Palmeiras (San Pablo) in 1963, Club Naotico Capibari (Recife) in 1964, Defensor Arica (Peru) in 1965, Sporting Cristal (Peru) in 1966.

He arrived in Bolivia in 1968 to play for Bolívar and the following year he signed for Guabirá. Then he went to Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito (Ecuador) in 1971 and Club Unión Magdalena (Colombia) in 1974.

In 1975 he returned to Guabirá as coach and achieved the national title that is so remembered by sugar fans. He then stayed to live in the north of Santa Cruz.

Precisely the montereño club was one of the first to send their ccondolences to Coutinho’s family.
