The Honduran Ficohsa Financial Group, through its subsidiaries, acquired Seguros América, the main company in this branch, the banking institution reported.
The Ficohsa Financial Group, that already operates a bank For more than seven years in Nicaragua, now it is committed to expanding its operations in the insurance industry, a sector in which it already operates in Honduras and Guatemala.
“With Seguros América, Ficohsa will contribute efforts to establish synergies that allow a wider range of products, services and financial benefits to be brought to clients,” said the same source in a statement.
“Our group, with extensive experience in insurance, now completes its strategy in Nicaragua by making this investment. We believe in the capabilities that we will develop together and we are fully confident that it will bring benefits to Nicaraguans by adding a solid operation that has a great track record and experience,” said Marco López, executive president of Banco Ficohsa Nicaragua, added the statement.
With the new operation in Nicaragua, Ficohsa is consolidated as the seventh most important player in premiums in the Central American region.
Seguros América, with 26 years of operations in the market, will maintain its brand and continue operating under the same name.
