The Association of Educators from Veragüenses (AEVE), indigenous groups from the Ngäbe Buglé region, the National Alliance of Organized People and other groups that maintain and protest at the national level, assured that they will not participate in the single dialogue table that will be installed at 4 :00 in the afternoon in the province of Coclé.

At this table the Catholic Church will be the mediator.

According to the leader of AEVE Luis Sánchez, the table has to take place in the province of Veraguas, in the district of Santiago where, according to him, the fight began.

“It is not the Government that is going to impose on us where the table is going to be. The table is in Santiago and it remains in Santiago. We are here supporting the colleagues from the region who will not participate in that table either,” he said, assuring that ANADEPO will not go to Coclé either.

“Anadepo has decided that it be in Veraguas, it is a decision from the beginning,” he said, assuring that the strikes continue and if there are confrontations with the National Police, dialogues with the government are broken, since they are not going to negotiate with threats.

For her part, the leader of the indigenous people, Irene Carpintero, demanded the presence of President Laurentino Cortizo in Veragiuas, where they keep the Pan-American highway closed, and said that the only way for the indigenous people to open it will be with the arrival of the president.

The indigenous people kept closing the road under the vehicular bridge in Santiago de Veraguas and despite the fact that the police went to the place, no confrontations were recorded.

At 3:00 in the afternoon, the police managed to reopen the Pan-American highway, at the height of San Antonio, in Veraguas.
