Gres Juana de Melo chose the sovereigns that will parade next to the group in the choirs that will be carried out by Aparicio Saravia Street in Melo and also in the Carnival activities that are developed in the different locations of the interior of the department.
In a municipal summer theater full of public as in the old days, Gimena Benítez was elected Queen, Natalia Olivera Madrina and Guadalupe Batista as Musa.
“One more year we repeat the show of Gres Juana de Melo in terms of the choice of sovereigns. We filled the theater again on a night with great joy and very happiness. Everything went very well with the participation of many local sets and musical groups, all with a very good vibes and wanting to add ” projection Rodrigo Rodríguez.
“It was a real advance of the carnival. Several manifestations were present. Actually, we have the 4 categories: music, murga, candombe and samba with dance choreographies. We had all the carnival on one night ” He added.
“On the occasion our sovereigns were elected among 9 participants who had registered” commented. “All are participants of the school itself because we do not invite outside. Those who sweat the shirt all year are the ones that can be presented ” said.

“We work throughout the year beyond everything reaffirms when the first heats begin. We do it with percussion and dance workshops. We have been preparing strong. We will have an outstanding harmony with several musicians. The theme will be Pandora’s box ” advancement. “From there many things will come out. We come well, we are strong and quiet. We go for a long -time hill carnival. ”

We believe that here there is no rivalry between schools, but there is a lot of companionship. We are not always better, but trying to do different things to overcome each day between ourselves ” The director of Juana de Melo pointed out.
He estimated that in Carnival 2025 the Samba school will have a figure far higher than the hundred members. “There will be days that we will exceed the 100 being able to reach 180 even because we have the peculiarity that we will always support several schools in Montevideo and the interior when they make their parades by competition. That is why members of these schools will come to accompany us. We are doing everything possible to bring them from both flowers and Montevideo to parade with us. Those days we will have a quite large movement ” advancement.
