The General Secretary of Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Jpsuv), Grecia Colmenares, highlighted on Wednesday the political character of Commander Hugo Chávez, within the framework of the activities to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his sowing.
“Chávez is the future because it is the affirmation that politics is what is human. We are the light in the midst of the storm”, stressed Colmenares during the activity carried out in the Cuartel de la Montaña, which is headed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, Colmenares emphasized that, in the midst of the age of technology, young people are called upon to deepen the values of humanity.
“Young people are called to look into Chávez’s humanity, to look into what it means to be a Chavista in these times, in the deep values of love, which are undoubtedly synonymous with Chávez,” he stressed.
During the day – which ended in the Barracks behind a caravan to the place -, that for 10 years, after the planting of Commander Chávez, Venezuela has faced different aggressions, which have put loyalty to the Bolivarian Revolution to the test.
“10 years later I would like to tell (Commander Chávez) everything that happened after that planting, when we had to put the pain behind us and start to act, turn this into force and make the Revolution,” he said.
In this sense, he recalled the fight that began in 2014 when an attempt was made to impose hatred and fascist policies in the country, promoted by the Venezuelan right. Action that was revived in 2017.
Similarly, he recalled that, as part of the attacks against the sovereignty of the Homeland, in 2015, the United States (USA) – through an Executive Order promulgated by then-President Barack Obama -; Venezuela was declared an “unusual and extraordinary threat to the security” of the North American nation.
“In 2014 we saw hatred head-on, that hatred inoculated by fascism, we overcame the guarimbas, the difficulties (…) In 2017 they wanted to impose a war, fascist acts, and that was defeated in the constituent assembly,” the revolutionary leader pointed out.
“Today Chávez undoubtedly continues to protect the Venezuelan people,” he said.
