The tunnel, with an approximate extension of 1.2 kilometers, already has some enabled sectionsmainly in the southern part, which allows vehicles traveling in a west-east direction to connect with the February 27th Avenue.
This work is built with part of the funds generated by the renegotiation of the contract between the Dominican State and the company Dominican Airports 21st Century (Aerodom) which implies benefits for the country between 1,905 and 2,155 million dollars, with an initial amount of 775 million dollars.
The advances

He indicated that the objective is to have a express avenue that facilitates circulation both north-south on Luperón and east-west on 27 de Febrero.

During his tour, the president also highlighted other road works underway at the main entrances to Santo Domingo, as well as complementary projects such as the Dr. José Francisco Peña Gómez Ecological Avenue, the cable car, overpasses and overpasses in critical points of the city, which will contribute to improving vehicle fluidity and urban mobility.
