There is one reform that is more urgent than all those that are being talked about today: the reform of the Dominican State, so that it is more bearable and less costly. Because, tell me: Why does this little country need to have 32 provinces and a National District? What good does it do to have a Legislative Branch with two chambers and more than two hundred legislators? Why do we have an Executive Branch with more than one hundred agencies of all sizes and almost 800 thousand employees? Why do we need a Judicial Branch divided into a thousand pieces of all sizes?… (I’ll leave that to Luis Abinader, let’s see if he does something).
