He Ministry of Health announced that it is preparing a Christmas Night Vaccination for this December 12 and 13 in the country.
The day will take place within the framework of the Expanded Program on Immunizations (EPI)which aims to facilitate timely access to vaccines for the entire population, thus reinforcing protection against preventable diseases.
The activities will allow Colombia to reflect the permanent action of the EPI and the implementation of strategies that expand access to vaccination, including extended hours and intensive days.

According to the Ministry of Health, so far in 2025, the EPI teams, with the support of the Basic Health Teams, have applied more than 21 million doses.
Among the main advances of the EPI in 2025 are new vaccines and expansion of coverage, vaccination against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in pregnant women between 28 and 36 weeks; inclusion of the acellular hexavalent vaccine for newborns weighing less than 1,500 grams; incorporation of the Mpox vaccine (simian smallpox); extension of the vaccine against HPV for children between 9 and 17 years old; and adjustments to vaccination schedules against outbreaks of whooping cough and yellow fever.
He also highlighted that for the fifth consecutive year, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) certified the country as a measles-free territory, despite the circulation of the virus in other countries in the region. This achievement poses new challenges in high mobility scenarios such as COP16 and the 2026 World Cup.
The Ministry launched an innovative campaign that promotes vaccination throughout the life course, debunking myths and providing clear information about the safety and benefits of vaccines.

As part of the Vaccine Safety Network (VSN) In the Americas, the modernization of the digital vaccination platform is underway, with updated content and interactive tools that will increase citizen confidence in immunization.
The Ministry of Health reiterated its call to participate in the Christmas Night Vaccination and the National Vaccination Day. In addition, he warned that those who travel to areas with risk of yellow fever should get the vaccine at least ten days before of displacement.
