All activities for grandmothers they took place in an atmosphere of hope and struggle for the identity of all the boys and girls who were appropriated during the last civic-military dictatorship. President Alberto Fernández greeted the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo through the social network Twitter.
“Thank you (Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo). From peace and love, they have taught us what struggles truly mean. On this National Day of the Right to Identity, and every day, we are with you. The search continues.” The president stated,
Under the motto “grandmothers45 years old, the search continues” the celebrations in Tecnópolis, which was held on the National Day for the Right to Identity, began at two in the afternoon.
María Rosenfeldt, director of the Tecnópolis park together with Leonardo Fossati, Grandmothers’ grandson, presented the guided tour of the so-called Identity Show, which is on display from October 1 to 23 in the Araucaria space of the property.
Fossati expressed: “We are on a very special day, it is a celebration that has its origin in pain. 45 years ago the Grandmothers began looking for us in the midst of a military dictatorship, with all that that means.”
As part of the activities arranged, a service point was set up for people “with doubts about their origin or who want to provide information about possible children of people who disappeared during the last dictatorship.”
The search continues
Photographs of the parents and relatives of the nearly 400 grandchildren still to be restituted. They transmit the stories of those young people who were kidnapped and who, for the most part, are still missing.
Fossati insisted that the crime “remains in force” for all those who still need to be found. “Today we are accompanied by several grandchildren returned to this property and from that place we say that it is a celebration,” he clarified.
