The governor of Valle del Cauca, once again reiterated the need to lift the collection of tolls that drivers must pay morewhen mobilizing through the alternate routes that were created after the collapse of the El Alambrado bridge, in the municipality of Seville.

Through her Twitter account, Clara Luz Roldán, asked President Gustavo Petro, as well as the Ministry of Transport and the National Infrastructure Agency, to implement a transitory measure for the exception of the collection, especially of the additional toll, on the alternate road between Cartago-Pereira-Armenia, for heavy traffic , this while another metal bridge is being built on the site.
The president asked to also contemplate the possibility of adding a clause, which obliges to raise some tolls in case of landslidesfallen bridges, eruptions, earthquakes or other types of emergencies.
“These emergencies due to road closures they put more weight to the inflationary load in the products of the family basketand we must always look for solutions that help people,” he added.
Regarding the articulated work with national and local authorities that is being carried out to recover mobility in the north of the department, On the Barragán bridge and the road between Caicedonia and Seville in the La Cristalina sector, there is already machinery in the area to start making a breakwater and divert the waters.
“This will allow work on an underpinning in the river pile to improve the infrastructure of the bridge. With that we hope to start the load tests the other week and in about six weeks enable a ‘stop and go’ for vehicle traffic through this point”, explained the Secretary of Infrastructure of the Valley, Frank Ramírez.
Regarding the work in the La Cristalina sector, the full recovery of the affected road corridor has already begun.

“Additionally, In the Caicedonia-Sevilla corridor, we already have people to begin removal and excavation works under the place where the bench fellThis will make it possible to build some land and, later, a retaining wall to be able to reform the entire road in this way,” added the official.
According to the governor, a diagnosis of other bridges will be carried out to identify those that have some type of risk and intervene in a timely manner.
