The Governor of CoahuilaMiguel Ángel Riquelme, confirmed the location and “release” of the mayor of Guerrero, Mario Cedillo Infante and eight more people, who had disappeared this Friday night when they were traveling through Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
“I have been informed by the Attorney General of CoahuilaGerardo Márquez, that Mayor Mario Cedillo and the people who were traveling through Tamaulipas have been released,” Governor Riquelme wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Without giving further details, the governor thanked the Mexican Army, the Navy and local authorities for locating this group of officials who disappeared after allegedly being kidnapped by armed men, state authorities said on Saturday.
Mario Cedillo Infante, Mayor of Guerrero, Coahuilawas traveling with eight other people on Friday night when the authorities lost contact with this group in the city of Nuevo Laredo, the state government reported in a statement.
Before disappearing, the group had alerted the authorities that they were being followed by two trucks with armed men.
The Government of Coahuila reported that after his release, both Cedillo Infante and the rest of the people who accompanied him would be transferred to the municipality of Guerrero.
The authorities of the entity highlighted that in this operation the coordination of Governor Riquelme with federal authorities was maintained, among them, the head of the Ministry of the Interior, Adán Augusto López and the heads of Sedena and Semar, Luis Crescencio Sandoval and José Rafael Ojeda, respectively; as well as the governor of Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal.
