The governor of the state of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez, said that the emergency in the indigenous entity “tends to complicate” after an increase in the flow of the Orinoco river that exceeded the overflow level and stood at 53.39 meters above the sea level this July 25.

In his Facebook account, the president said that there are 2,500 people, who make up 700 families, affected in locations such as Atures, Atabapo, Autena and El Burro, to whom they had to move to safe places before the flood of the tributary, one of the most serious since 2018.

“We also have some critical points that we have been attacking, as is the passage of Chalana on the side of El Burro and in the next few hours we will be addressing the passage in Puerto Páez,” he said.
