“Pacifying my neighborhood, building the future” is the new program to exchange firearms for vouchers exchangeable in supermarkets in order to reduce criminal acts throughout the national territory.
The governor of the province of Panama, Carla García Bo, explained that said program is an inter-institutional technical cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Government and the Ministry of Security.
He announced that next Monday, December 13, the first day of delivery of weapons will take place. “It will be in the district of San Miguelito, in the Municipal gym from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm,” he said.
García explained that the objective is that people can approach, without fear, to hand over a firearm, call it a revolver, pistol, grenade, rifle, machine guns, silencers, suppliers and everything related to weapon accessories.
He pointed out that there will be weapons personnel at the site to make an appraisal of the weapon that is being delivered. “If the weapon has a value of $ 300, the bonus that will be delivered is for the same amount,” stressed the governor.
