The National Secretary of Popular and Solidarity Economy, Gilberto Carvalho, said on Monday (11) that the federal government is working to enable greater qualification for workers of the solidarity economy.
According to the secretary, this is one of the main demands of the sector, which will meet, from 13 to 16 August, in Luziânia (GO), at the 4th National Conference of Popular and Solidarity Economy (Conaes).
“We are working hard on this perspective of making these people who are in the solidarity economy, have technology, have knowledge from the market to the whole issue of production lines. If you deliver to a group of pickers a press, a truck, a forklift, a treadmill, but not training, they will not be able to manage a solidary economy company,” Carvalho said in an interview with the program. The Voice of Brazil.
The secretary stressed that another recurring claim of the workers of the solidarity economy is to be able to receive public promotion.
“The solidarity economy complains that just like any company that settles in a municipality, and it has the land for free, IPTU exemption, and access to banks, also we in the solidarity economy we want more and more access to public purchases and public financing, so that companies actually grow,” he said.
The 4th Conaes will offer subsidies for the elaboration of the 2nd National Plan of Solidarity Economy.
With the theme “Popular and supportive economy as a public policy: building democratic territories through associative work and cooperation”the expectation is that 1,500 delegates will participate, and representatives of governments, civil society, entities and enterprises of popular and solidarity economy.
The solidarity economy is an economic model mainly formed by solidarity cooperatives, in which workers have possession of the means of production, machinery and equipment; And where there is self -management, that is, participatory management and an equal sharing of earnings.
