The Minister of the Presidency (Minpre), Joel Santostogether with their counterparts Pável Isa Contreras, from Economy, Planning and Development (MEPyD), Miguel Ceara Hatton, from Environment and Natural Resources (MMRN), and the director of the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom), Jean Luis Rodríguez, will carry out a tour of the Cibao Northwest region, to supervise and follow up on the work carried out by the Government with the Manzanillo Plan.
The agenda of the representatives of the Government The central office will begin on Thursday, at 3:00 in the afternoon, in a meeting with the political authorities of Montecristi, to then speak with the banana sector of the Cibao Norte region, and finally they will share impressions with social and political agents of Dajabón .
In the meeting with banana trees of the region, will address the coordination of operations for the export of bananas and the works of rehabilitation and expansion of the port, and the impact that it will have on that commercial sector.

On Friday, they will tour the port, a project around which the Development Plan of chamomile and the Cibao Northwest Region, to then visit Los Coquitos beach, one of the main recreation spots for Manzanillo residents.
Santos, Isa Contreras, Ceara and Rodríguez will also visit the perimeter fence, in Dajabón and the protected areas of Manzanillo, as well as the Barrancones neighborhood, a historic area in Pepillo Salcedo.
The representatives of the Government will also have a territorial dialogue in Pepillo Salcedo, with the participation of the Provincial and Municipal Development Councils of Montecristi and Pepillo Salcedo, in which the Development Strategy for the Bay of Manzanillo and the Cibao Northwest Region will be presented. as well as the results of the workshop planning for the creation of the Master Plan, which was carried out with the community of Manzanillo, in June of this year.
The Master Development Plan involves extending all port activities so that more ships can arrive, and thus boost the economic, logistic and industrial activities of the area.
Due to its natural conditions and its strategic location, the port of Manzanillo will be the main port terminal in the northwest of the country. This project is part of the Manzanillo Development Plan, promoted by President Luis Abinaderthrough the Minpre.
At the end of the meetings, an inter-institutional pact will be signed between Minpre, MEPyD and Mimarena, through which an alliance for the development of the region will be promoted.
