The Presidency Delegate of the Biobío region, Daniela Dresdner, confirmed that the Government will file a lawsuit against those responsible for the attack suffered by firefighters in Cañete.
“In the next few days we will organize a meeting with the regional board to coordinate a series of measures that allow firefighters to carry out their work safely,” he said.
This, as a result of the different attacks and threats received by the Cañete Fire Department during an emergency operation in the Los Batros Huentelolen Costa sector, in the Biobío region. Even their vehicles were sprayed with accelerating liquids.
“With respect to the situation that occurred with the Fire Department yesterday, I want to say that these events seem very serious to us and as a Government we have made the decision to sue those who are responsible,” said Dresdner.
Through a statement, the Cañete Fire Department declared that “in the future, in the face of new events, we will not hesitate to exercise the corresponding legal actions in order to ensure the physical and psychological integrity of our firefighters, in addition to the protection of our major and minor material that we have at the service of our citizens”.
