Also in this sector, one of the oldest housing projects of the Government, an investment of RD$300 million was announced for the adaptation of 400 buildings, as well as the repair of streets and the central park of the town.
Why was it announced in Invivienda?
Invivienda was created in the government of Salvador Jorge Blanco (1982-1986), in which Pedro Bonilla, father of the Minister of Housing, was director of the INVIand José Rafael Abinader, father of the President, was Secretary of Finance (currently the Treasury).
Abinader recalled that his father and Carlos Bonilla’s father met to seek the funds to finish the project; however, a crisis came and construction stopped.
“And every time I came here to Invivienda, and saw the conditions of these buildings… I always said: ‘This, in our government has to change’, and today it is already changing”exposed the president before hundreds of people who chanted “4 more years”.
Abinader recalled that, from the Government, housing projects have been generated so that the greatest number of people can access them, such as my homeDominicana rebuilds itself, focused on vulnerable houses and Happy family.
The activity was also attended by the senator of the Santo Domingo province, Antonio Taveras, other State servants, community leaders and hundreds of people.
