The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported that the number of flights will increase and the capacity at the Jorge Chávez International Airport, as well as the air terminals in the regions, will be expanded.
“In a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez; and the Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallos Flores, agreed that the Jorge Chávez Airport and the regions will have more capacity and flights”, Indicated the Mincetur through its Twitter account.
The Mincetur also announced that cruise tourism will be enabled in Peru.
However, it did not detail how it is expected to enable cruise tourism or the new capacity of airports, which currently allows up to 60% occupancy.
In addition, the institution pointed out that Tumbes, like Tacna, will open their borders after universal vaccination.
