During an event in Guaratinguetá, São Paulo, Alckmin said the government defends dialogue in negotiations between the two countries. “The priority is not retaliation, it is to solve. Try to expand the number of sectors that are excluded, be out of these tariffs, which we understand extremely unfair, ”he said.
Alckmin again confirmed that the announcement of assistance measures to the sectors affected by the tariff will be made next week by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
“Lula should announce a package of mitigating measures, that is, support companies. Which companies? Those who export the most to the United States and have been affected,” he said.
