The Government ordered the suspension of teaching nationwide this friday due to the rains generated by the Storm Melissawhich will continue in the next 24 hours.
The information was offered this Thursday night by COE director, Juan Manuel Mendezduring a press conference at the National Palace, which was led by President Luis Abinader.
Also, suspension of work is maintained in both the public and private sectors the provinces on red alert.
In addition to the National District and the provinces Saint DominicSan Cristóbal, Azua, Peravia, San José de Ocoa, Barahona, San Juan and Pedernales, were placed on red alert Monte Plata, La Romana and San Pedro de Macorís.
The measure seeks to safeguard the student safetyteachers and administrative staff of the public and private educational system.

Minerd remains in permanent session
The minister Luis Miguel De Camps He said that the Minerd remains in permanent session, following up on the storm evolution to coordinate the necessary actions with the competent authorities.
Through a note sent by Minerd, the official reported that he met with regional directors and education districts to learn first-hand about the situation in each locality and evaluate the measures to be implemented in order to guarantee the integrity of the educational community.
