Government strengthens all its dialogue offices to meet demands at the national level

The Government has been executing an intense plan to strengthen all its dialogue offices, in order to meet the priority demands of the population at the national level. This was reported by the Vice Minister of Territorial Governance of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, José Alberto Muro, who indicated that this action responds to what was announced

Within this framework, Muro stated that eight social management and dialogue offices have been identified that are constituted within eight ministries, including the Ministries of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, the Environment, Transportation and Communications, Energy and Mines, among others.” These offices have already been working with us, but they needed to take a look inside them to strengthen their performance in promoting dialogue throughout Peru, even more so in this time of mobilizations,” he said.

In the same way, he indicated that the work with these eight social management and dialogue offices identified in the ministries includes, in principle, standardizing the procedures for action in the face of the type of conflict that is being experienced in the country.

”At this moment we are reviewing the proposed strategy and tomorrow we are going to have a meeting with all the members of these offices. In addition, we have begun coordination to formulate the national conflict prevention policy; In addition, we are going to propose that the ministries that do not yet have an organic unit for dialogue issues have at least one representative, and thus the entire Executive can align itself in this objective, ”he said.

He added, meanwhile, that last week five social management and dialogue teams were sent from Lima to the different regions to talk with the social actors in each territory. Along these lines, he mentioned the case of a transport company that decided not to join a strike announced in Cusco, considering that the protests should take place peacefully.

This is the case of the Association of Transporters of Urban Service of Cusco (Asotrapuc), which brings together 37 companies in this area. At the time, Estanislao Alegre, president of Asotrapuc, announced that the carriers are not going to stop because they have been harmed these days by these measures.

Meanwhile, through the Secretariat for Social Management and Dialogue of the PCM, meetings have been held with authorities, representatives of social organizations and members of different institutions from the Arequipa, Apurímac, Cusco and Puno regions to express the desire for dialogue of the Executive with all the social actors that participate in the mobilizations.” The protests are recognized. One can go out to protest and this is recognized in the Constitution, but violence is not. I reiterate that we are open to dialogue to find a solution to these problems that have been postponed for so many years,” Muro concluded.
