Government signs contract for Accesos Norte 2 and start-up certificate for Alo Sur

The National Government this Friday signed the contract Accesos Norte 2 and the act of commencement of the ALO Sur project; Both works are part of the Bicentennial or 5G Concessions program.

(Read: Government will leave the project of digital centers in motion).

The work done by the Ministry of Transport, the ANI, has been fundamental. Without their efforts, progress in 4G projects and the Bicentennial Concessions program would not be possible.”, indicated President Iván Duque Márquez.

With these two projects, which add investments close to $3 billion (between capex and opex), the national government seeks to improve the income and exits of Bogotá, impacting more than 10 million people who use the exits to the north and south of the Capital to destinations such as Santanderes, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Tolima and Neiva, among others.

With these works we are not only going to impact the mobility of Bogotá and its surroundings, but we are going to improve the quality of life of at least 7 municipalities, that is why we insist that the works are not from a Government, but rather belong to all Colombians”, indicated the Minister of Transport, Ángela María Orozco.

With the Accesos Norte Phase 2 project, the Government seeks to improve mobility and decongest the traffic of vehicles that circulate between Bogotá and several municipalities of Cundinamarca, among them: Chía, Sopó, Tocancipá, Zipaquirá and Cajicá. The investments in this project are $1.32 billion (figures as of December 2020) and it is estimated that it will generate more than 37,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs, with which nearly eight million inhabitants of the project’s area of influence will benefit.

(What’s more: Mayor’s Office will restrict grilling in Bogotá in these three days).

With the work ALO Sur more than two million inhabitants will benefit from the towns of Bosa, Kennedy and Fontibón, as well as the municipalities of Soacha, Sibaté and Mosquera, by reducing their usual journeys and traffic jams to enter or exit through the south of the capital by more than 30 minutes. This initiative is estimated to generate more than 19,000 jobs.

Manuel Felipe Gutiérrez, president of the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), indicated that with these two firms the 5G projects continue to be consolidated: “We have already awarded three projects in total and we are making progress in the bidding processes for multimodal projects that are a priority for the country, such as the Magdalena 1 Trunk (Puerto Berrío-Barrancabermeja), Magdalena 2 Trunk (Sabana de Torres-Curumaní), Buenaventura-Buga , App of the Magdalena River and the Canal del Dique. With works we are bringing equity and progress to all of Colombia”, he assured.

About the projects The firm Plural Structure ALO Sur is made up of the companies Concay SA, Coherpa Ingenieros Constructores SAS, Mario Alberto Huertas Cotes and Pavimentos Colombia SAS, each with a 25% stake. This initiative that has an investment of $1.17 billion pesos (capex and opex) seeks to connect Calle 13, to the west of the capital, from Fontibón to the Chusacá intersection, through the construction and improvement of nearly 24.5 kilometers of dual carriageway and a 153,000 m2 avenue.

The project also includes the construction of two grade-separated intersections: one at the connection of the ALO with Calle 13, in Fontibón, and the second intersection at Avenida Indumil (Soacha). In addition, new structures will be built, including two new bridges over the Bogotá River and connection steps to the Cundinamarca Canal.

Regarding the Accesos Norte 2 project, the Plural Structure Ruta Bogotá Norte consortium, made up of Obrascon Huarte Sucursal Colombia (50%) and Termotécnica Coindustrial SAS (50%), will be in charge of advancing the works, after being awarded on 10 March 2022. The project has an exclusive lane for TransMilenio, from Calle 192 to Calle 235.
