The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, conveyed words of condolences and solidarity to the people and Government of Brazil, after the devastating damage caused by the rains in the São Paulo region.
“From Venezuela we express our solidarity with the people of São Paulo and the Government of Brazil in the face of the havoc caused by the rains in that region. We convey heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and we hope for a speedy full recovery,” the diplomat wrote on his social media account, @yvangil.
The intense rains registered on Sunday, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, have caused 48 fatalities. Similarly, there are missing persons and more than 1,700 people had to leave their homes due to floods and landslides, according to reports from official organizations.
