In the early hours of this Friday (4), the federal government sent medication kits and supplies to cities in Amazonas that are facing one of the most severe droughts in the region.
The 54 kits will provide services to 81 thousand people (each kit can serve 1.5 thousand people) for a period of 30 days in the most impacted municipalities.
According to the Ministry of Health, last week the holder of the department, Nísia Trindade, met with the health secretaries of the northern region of the country to expand the dialogue on the needs of each state.
On the same date, the ministry started the campaign If there is smoke, you have to be carefulto alert the population and health managers about the risks that air pollution poses to public health.
The folder also made available a page dedicated to the topicwhere the population can find guidance on health care and how to protect themselves during the fire season.
The idea is to mobilize society to adopt preventive measures and reduce the health impacts caused by exposure to smoke.
