The information was released on his Twitter account, with a message in which he specified that the price of electricity varies according to the use in each home.
“The value of electrical energy remains unchanged. In the bill received by the consumer, the sum of the total kWh used is reflected and includes the costs from ETED to EDES,” he wrote.
In addition, he accompanied the text of an image that indicates that “the price of the electricity rate It has not changed since April 2022. Each peso includes the unit value per KWH and always varies according to the use in each home.”
Homer Figueroa makes these statements after the Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, announced a week ago that by 2023 the country ran the risk that the electricity rate more expensive due to international fuel prices.
“The development of the events of the war and the pressure for natural gas and fuels from Europe threatens that next year we could be facing high prices,” Almonte said.
He added that, until now, the country has had a fairly stable management in the electricity sector, but also the Dominican Republic will not emerge completely unscathed from the world situation, because it is clearly an importer of coal, oil and natural gas.
