The Dominican State, through the Pro-Pedernales Trustreiterated the call to investors national and international to express interest to participate in the competitive process for the selection of a strategic partner in order to capitalize and develop in partnership the tourist destination of Cabo Rojo in Pedernales.
The communiqué published in different media informs the realization of the amendment No. 1 to the Specifications of the processthrough which an extension of the schedule of activities of the process is made in order to give interested parties a greater opportunity to participate and, consequently, reiterated the call for participation in the aforementioned process.
In accordance with the provisions of the amendment, interested parties may submit the credential documentation digitally for evaluation until February 20, 2023, until 11:59:59 p.m., Dominican Republic time (Coordinated Universal Time: UTC- 4 hours).
“In this process, all those legal entities that meet the requirements described in the Specifications of the “Phase I: Expression of Interest in the Competitive Process for the Selection of a Strategic Partner” and corresponding Amendments, which may be consulted on the web portal of the Pro Pedernales Trust: www.propedernales.do<http://www.propedernales.do>»expresses the publication.
It also indicates that prior to participating and depositing the required documentation, all bidders must pay the Pro-Pedernales Trust the sum of US$10,000.00, non-reimbursable, in accordance with the specifications established in the Tender Documents of the “Phase I: Manifestation of Interest of the Competitive Process for the Selection of a Strategic Partner» and its corresponding amendments.

The statement also establishes that they will be included in the list of prequalified bidders, thus being enabled to participate in phase II of the competitive process and eventually present their Economic Offer, at the time and date established in the schedule.
In mid-November, the Pro-Pedernales Trust launched the call for the search for a strategic partner for the tourism development of Pedernales and on this occasion, as a result of the extension of the term to participate, it is reiterating the call to interested investors.
About the project
The Pedernales Tourism Development Project, Cabo Rojo, It is designed to be carried out in four phases, over an average period of 10 years, and an estimated investment of US$2,245 million.
The first phase stipulates an investment of US$1.3 billion for the construction of 4,700 rooms (which will become 12,000 rooms at the end of the project).
Eight hotels will begin operations during the opening of this first phase, for which the Hilton, Marriott, Sunwing, AmResorts, Iberostar Group and Karisma Hotels & Resort hotel chains have already signed a commitment letter to begin construction of their hotels from mid of this 2022.
In this first phase, an international airport will also be built in Pedernales, a shopping center and all the necessary basic infrastructure works will be completed, such as the construction of an aqueduct, a water treatment plant and an electrical transmission system.
