The Government presented a project with which it is intended to link health systems to 700,000 Venezuelan migrantsan initiative that will have an investment of more than 15.8 million dollars.
“The goal of the health sector will be to enroll 700,000 migrants (Venezuelans) in the next two months, which requires the collaboration of all sectors”, said the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz, during the presentation of the project Towards the health of migrants.
This project will have an investment of 15 million euros (15.8 million dollars), contributed by the Government of Spain and the European Union and will be developed mainly in the departments of Atlántico, La Guajira, Norte de Santander, Bolívar and Arauca, as in Bogota.

According to the Minister, the project will be aimed at the care for expectant mothers and children in areas with the greatest impact of migration. He explained that this effort represents a budgetary impact, not only trying to enroll, but “the commitment goes towards maintaining enrollment and health services.” The Spanish ambassador in Bogotá, Joaquín de Arístegui, highlighted the cooperation work carried out between the two countries, highlighting that in the health sector it is a “magnificent example” of collaboration.
