As part of the economic reactivation of Impulso Perú, the Government is preparing a bill for the youth recruitment granting a subsidy to companies, indicated the Deputy Minister of Economy, Alex Contreras.
“We are working on this directly with the Ministry of Labor, it is a measure that will come out in the following days, now we are closing the operation. What we want is to continue helping the recovery of employment in a sector where average employment is higher and this is a more vulnerable segment. In that sense, we are making some mechanism improvements”, Said the executive on Canal N.
He added that this initiative, which will favor young people between 18 and 29 years old, must be approved at the Council of Ministers session.
“This has a double objective, it generates an incentive for companies to hire, but it will also help create jobs. That will be a bill, which once approved by the Council of Ministers will be sent to Congress“, accurate.
It should be noted that the subsidy would range between 17.5% and 55% of the salary earned by the young person hired. The percentage of state support will depend on the type of contract and the gender of the worker.
More employment and investment
The deputy minister also pointed out that with the regulations of mechanisms of Works for Taxes (OxI) and Public Private Association (APP) it will be possible to generate more than 200,000 jobs in a year.
“The impact of the plan, in the short term, will be around 0.6% of GDP. The idea is that in 12 months at least 200,000 formal jobs can be generated and in the following 18 months it will be close to 300,000 jobs.”, he referred.
He added that the new PPP regulations will release S/ 400 million of potential investment in the country in the short term.
While with the new regulation of works for taxes, it expands the sources of financing to execute public infrastructure projects and will allow generating S / 15,000 million more investment in the country.
