The issuance of registration and inspection of licenses for Collectors, Sport Shooters and Hunters (CACs) by the Federal Police (PF) will effectively begin on July 1st of next year. The new date is contained in a joint decree signed by the Ministers of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Lewandowski, and Defense, José Múcio Monteiro, published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Friday (27).
Currently, this registration and inspection is carried out by the Army, but a decree of the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of 2023 determined that the activity would pass to the PF from January 1, 2025, a deadline now postponed by another six months. To date, around 200 PF employees have already undergone training to work in inspection. Other training will be carried out in the coming months, the organization said.
Earlier this month, PF general director, Andrei Rodrigues, had already said that the institution I couldn’t do this job yet. due to lack of resources and personnel
Until the effective transfer of competence to the PF, responsibility for the action will remain with the Brazilian Army.
