Government pays honors and highlights the “anti-imperialist” character of the Liberator

When commemorating 239 years of the birth of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, this Sunday, July 24, the government of Nicolás Maduro paid him honors from the National Pantheon. The Minister of the Interior and Justice, retired Admiral Remigio Ceballos Ichaso highlighted the independence and anti-imperialist legacy of the Liberator


When commemorating 239 years of the birth of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, this Sunday, July 24, the government of Nicolás Maduro paid him honors from the National Pantheon.

The Minister of the Interior and Justice, retired Admiral Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, led the act. From the National Pantheon, the official highlighted the independence and anti-imperialist legacy of the Liberator.

“Today, 239 years after the birth of the Liberator General in Chief, Simón Bolívar, we honor you, Father of the Great Homeland. You bequeathed Independence to the peoples of America, your message of anti-imperialist and libertarian struggle remains alive”, Ceballos Ichaso asserted.

The Minister of the Interior and Justice, also Vice President of Citizen Security and Peace, Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, asserted that the Liberator Simón Bolívar, with his action, established “a new era by collapsing a great world empire such as the Spanish empire.”

At the same time, in his speech, Ceballos Ichaso asserted that the Liberator developed a political doctrine “of indisputable transcendence, irreducible and indestructible, his life is the most exciting story of struggle, effort, drama, defeats, triumphs, glories.”

Likewise, according to the official, former President Hugo Chávez put the Liberator in his position, “he magnified him in his just measure and engraved him forever in the imagination of the Venezuelan people.”

The act, from the National Pantheon, this Sunday, was also attended by the Ministers of Culture, Ernesto Villegas; of Education, Yellitze Santaella; and from Penitentiary Services, Mirelys Contreras; the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, and the comptroller general, Elvis Almoroso.

For its part, with the raising of the flag, very early, the National Armed Force (FAN) honors the Liberator.

«With the Hoisting of the National Pavilion, the FAN The 239th anniversary of the birth of Father Liberator Simón Bolívar begins with joy. The sacred fire of his glories maintains the emancipatory and anti-imperialist thought in our continent, “said the military organization.

The FAN also commemorates, this Sunday, July 24, the 199th anniversary of the Naval Battle of the Lake and Navy Day.

In his message, the Minister of Defense, General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López, stated that with the birth of the Libertad, “hope began to flourish among the dispossessed, blacks, browns, mestizos and Indians, who heeded the call to join the the emancipatory cause, fighting against the tyranny that for more than 300 years had oppressed and subjugated our America. Today, like every day, the Liberating Father is reborn in the consciousness of the Venezuelan people, who, full of pride, celebrate his advent».

Regarding the Naval Battle of the Lake, Padrino López indicated that, with that victory, “the definitive rupture of the oppressive chains of the Spanish empire” was achieved.

He said that the Navy continues executing plans and projects aimed at increasing its level of operational readiness, organizational capacity, training, technological development and revolutionary awareness, “that allow it to continue contributing to the comprehensive defense of the nation.”
