Santiago.-From one of the 150 100% electric school buses that were formally delivered this Sunday in Santiago, the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, left the National Transportation System in operation. Student Transportation (BRING) to Santiago.
According to the Presidency, with the integration of Ciudad Corazón to this program, there are now 22 provinces that receive the service with the aim of guaranteeing supervised and free access to education for each child and adolescent.
Vice President Peña stated that with the implementation of the TRAE in Santiago, the Government is moving firmly towards the transformation of the educational system and responds to the need to ensure that each student arrives at school safely, on time and efficiently.

The also president of the Education Cabinet stated that in just one year and eight months of operations, the TRAE system has transported more than 13.3 million students throughout the country.
While the Minister of Education, Ángel Hernández, highlighted that this delivery reaffirms the effort that the Government is making to provide the entire country with school buses that guarantee that “children leave home safely and return home safely.”
Meanwhile, the director of the TRAE, Onísimo González, explained that this is the first fleet of electric school buses and will impact more than 160 thousand students in public schools.
The 41 routes, which will be in operation from this Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 in the morning, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 in the afternoon and from 4:00 to 6:00 in the Later, they cover the municipalities of San José de Las Matas, Jánico, Santiago Sureste, Santiago Noroeste, Santiago Centro Oeste, Santiago Noreste, Villa Bisonó (Navarrete), Licey Al Medio, Tamboril and Villa González.
The buses are equipped with GPS, cameras with 360 degree coverage, seat belts and folding STOP sign, an autonomy of 200 kilometers, for a 100% charge, it is ecological with regenerative brakes for constant and safe work.
In addition to the 150 electric buses, another 84 diesel buses will later be destined for Santiago to total a fleet of 234 vehicles.
It was explained that the system is already in the process of being transferred to include it in the provinces of Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Valverde Mao, San Francisco de Macorís, Bonao, Neyba, La Vega, Moca among others.
