At approximately 10:00 p.m., Jin Zhengyuan, the Chinese citizen who is involved in the ‘ABC bribery’ case, arrived. to the cells of the Felcc in La Paz. This time the accusation is legitimization of illicit profits, however, this new process is linked to the first because it is about the collection of the checks with which the millionaire bribe was supposedly paid on ABC.

“Namely, there are different irregularities about the collection of a large amount of moneyIn this sense, the Public Ministry has issued an arrest warrant, initially against the person who has made the payment and finally against the person who has issued the checks, we are already in the middle of the investigation stage, “said prosecutor Eddy Flores in the offices police.

On September 1, deputy Héctor Arce (MAS) filed a complaint against the president of ABC and against other officials for having agreed to a bribe of Bs 18 million, approximately, with Jin Zhengyuan, representative of the construction company in charge of the Sucre-Yamparáez section. This Thursday the prosecutor said that it is a new complaint.

In the afternoon, the Minister of Justice, Iván Lima, reported that they filed the complaint based on the collection of the three checks against Jin Zhengyuan and Jesús EAS for the crime of legitimizing illicit profits.

According to the official accusation, Jin contacted Jesus, to whom he offered to buy invoices from his company for a total cost of approximately Bs 9 million, in exchange he would receive a hefty commission of Bs 400 thousand.

The agreement was that Jin would write three checks payable to Jesus and his company, both would go to the bank and Jesús would cash the checks, then he would deliver the money to his contractor and also give him the invoices that they agreed upon; in such a way that it would seem that Jesus provided services to the Chinese company.

Lima said that Jesús EAS could not issue invoices because his NIT was suspended since 2021 and therefore the sales notes he delivered were illegal. Prosecutor Flores said that the destination of the money they collected is under investigation, although it is known that this money was for the payment of the bribe in ABC.
