Government of Venezuela reports that 47 Venezuelan soldiers died in the US aggression

The Minister of Defense of Venezuela, Vladimir Padrino López, reported this Friday that 47 members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) died during the US aggression against the South American country.

The military operation in Venezuela occurred on January 3 and culminated in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, currently detained in New York.

During a ceremony of decorations for military and non-military personnel who participated in the defense of the country that day, Padrino López stated that among the deceased were nine military womenas reported by the agency EFE.

Padrino added that the attack also left more than 112 people injured, who, he stated, received medical attention.

“In the face of technology and an overwhelming amount of media, unequal, against Venezuela, there are 47 men and women of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, nine women among them, who gave their lives,” said the military chief in a broadcast on the state channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

The minister maintained that the deceased soldiers “fulfilled history” by dying in defense of the country and also remembered that 32 Cuban citizens They lost their lives during the US attack in Venezuela.

Padrino López pointed out that the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, who took office after Maduro’s capture, ordered the creation of “a commission to care for the relatives” of the deceased and injured, with the aim of providing support “in everything that is necessary” and cover their “social and economic requirements.”

Likewise, he indicated that the authorities ordered the construction of a national monument in honor of the fatal victims and announced that they are already working to define its “best location.”

On Thursday, Delcy Rodríguez began her speech on the Government’s annual management report with a minute of applause in tribute to those who died during the January 3 operation.

That same day, In Cuba, thousands of people participated in the farewell of the 32 Cuban soldiers killed in the attackson a tour of the mortuary boxes through the streets of Havana to the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (Minfar).

A week earlier, the Venezuelan Government had posthumously promoted and decorated the deceased soldiers, in an event held in Caracas and headed by the president in charge along with the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.
