Behind the arrest warrant for three days for the governor of Santander, Mauricio Aguilar Hurtado, and the department’s Secretary of Education, María Eugenia Triana Vargasby contempt of court action, Government spokesmen responded to the incident.
This measure came out after a judge’s order was not carried out, who ordered those mentioned, on July 21, to appoint a teacher for the Educational Institution of Palmira in San Vicente de Chucurí, Santander, after the resignation of the teacher who was in charge of almost 40 students.
Based on this, Triana Vargas assured RCN Mundo that “in a report that was made to the judge, the ineffectiveness of the sanction was requested so that it be revoked and issued by the cashin addition to demonstrating that the Secretariat has acted in the best possible way”.
The official pointed out that the issue was addressed from August 5 to assign a teacher, but until the 23rd of the same month, the rectory reported that the teacher did not show up to work who had been appointed to the institution, on the established dates.
“Disciplinary control was sent to declare the abandonment of the position by the teacher, and release the plant to appoint the new one, who has already been assigned and must start working in the next few days,” added the secretary.
For a month, from May, when the school teacher resigned, until they went on vacation in June, the school was left without a teacher, in addition to teaching more than one subject.
So that Practically all students have not been able to start their classes as such to date. Because after the vacations between June and July, the teacher could be appointed a month later, until August 5.

“We were convinced that the educational service was already being provided in that institution. Last Tuesday we found out with the rector’s report that the teacher did not show up to work at the Institution. And that is why the court issues this contempt, reviewing that this service had not been provided for a while, “said Triana Vargas.
Instead, the plaintiff attorney said that, “Almost a semester has passed since they have not received classes, the children withdraw, the parents do not know what to do, the principal of the school speaks of desertion. They are peasant children who are not given the opportunity to study, they are not given the facilities, because of course they will end up working in the fields and will not study”.
Reason why for the moment, according to the lawyer William Duarte, the order was firm to assume the three days of arrest of the governor and the secretary, in addition to having to pay a fine of three current minimum wages.
Nevertheless, the process would pass to another instance before the appeal of the Secretariat, after making the due verification of which they have been notified so far.
