“These are times when if there is any humanity left in the United States government, it must lift the blocking to the brother Cuban people,” Ortega cried out in an act on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the National Police and broadcast on radio and television.
This set of economic, commercial and financial sanctions, which began six decades ago and have progressively tightened up to add 234 measures during the Donald Trump government, are one of the reasons for the current crisis that Cuba is going through, according to Ortega quoted by the agency Eph.

“The country is blocked and a hurricane passes with devastating power and has caused destruction, death and the affectation of the entire population because even the energy, the energy sources were shaken, they were affected by the hurricane,” he said.
He predicted that “Cuba will emerge victorious again with the solidarity of the peoples of the world.” “And if the blockade is lifted then we can believe that there is a bit of humanity in the American rulers,” he noted.
