The Japanese government has opened applications for the 2023 scholarship programs of the country’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to study at Japanese universities as undergraduates, technical schools or vocational courses, or even be admitted as research students and conduct a master’s or doctoral project in the country.
The scholarship is full and includes the payment of airfare, exemption from school fees and monthly allowance. The program also provides for a Japanese language course during the first year. For residents of Distrito Federal, Goiás and Tocantins, applications must be delivered to the Japanese Embassy, either in person or by mail. Residents in other locations should contact the Japanese consulate in the region.
This month, registration for the graduate program is open. Studies in Japan will begin in April 2023, lasting two years.
Candidates must meet a series of requirements, such as schooling, proficiency in English or Japanese and a maximum age of 34 years in April 2023. Selection consists of documentary analysis, written tests and an interview. At a later stage, the documentation is sent to Japan for review by the Japanese ministry.
In the case of undergraduate, technical school and vocational course scholarships, candidates with high school completed by March 2023 and up to 24 years of age in April 2023 will be accepted. Applications open on June 1st and close on the 24th of the same month. All scholarships have application requirements.
