One of the points that was touched on was the creation of the Primary Care Centers (CAP), which would be distributed for every 25,000 inhabitants.
The proposal is that all citizens can register and attend the CAP closest to their home and patients who require specialized care are referred to hospital centers of medium and high complexity, whether public, private or mixed that are part of the grid.

“Under no circumstances does the project eliminate the EPS and does not put a subsistence term on them either. The idea is that they get conditioned and can coexist within the new system of prevention and primary care and have all the possibilities of having their social objects.”, Interior Minister Alfonso Padra said after the meeting.
President Petro, for his part, said via Twitter: “I rate the meeting with the EPS as excellent. There is a will to move to the new model. The EPS value the need to implement the preventive health and primary care model throughout Colombia“(SIC).
