Government mourns the death of Queen Elizabeth II and extends its condolences to the United Kingdom

Buckingham Palace announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday afternoon. The monarch passed away at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, surrounded by her family and friends. This was reported by the royal family:

“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral tonight and return to London tomorrow,” they said.

The announcements and condolences from different countries throughout the world for the news were not long in coming, and Chile was no exception.

“The Government of Chile deeply regrets the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. We extend our sincere condolences to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations, as well as to the British royal family,” the Foreign Ministry wrote.
