Santo Domingo Este.- President Luis Abinader announced this Monday the launch of the “Family Support Bonus” that will benefit one million households with the payment of a single amount of 1,500 pesos in order to mitigate and counteract the effects of the crisis. post-pandemic and the general increase in prices worldwide.
The “Family Support Bonus” began this Monday in the municipal district of San Luis, Santo Domingo Este, and from August 1 the delivery will reach San Cristóbal, Peravia, San José de Ocoa, Azua, Barahona, Pedernales, Independencia, Bahoruco, San Juan, Elías Piña, Monte Plata, Montecristi, Sánchez Ramírez, El Seibo, Dajabón and in a second stage it will continue throughout the country.
President Abinader assured that this government is going to help everyone, “but first those who have the least. As you have heard me say other times, we are not going to leave anyone behind.
Then the president also specified “we are going to put as many measures as necessary and possible to support the most vulnerable Dominican families.”
“The Government will not leave behind those households that continue to be affected by the aftermath of the pandemic and must now face this new challenge of the war in Russia and Ukraine,” assured the president.
Along the same lines, the Head of State affirmed that the present authorities will continue to accompany and support those who have the least and for a social policy focused on their needs and attending to their requests.
“We are your government and we will be your main support. And we want to demonstrate it with facts, with policies and with commitment,” said the president.
He also added that, “the impact on prices is something that affects us all, but in the same way we know that it has a special effect on the population in a situation of poverty and vulnerability. Inflation is the most unfair price for the humblest classes,” said the president.
Commitment to the vulnerable
On his side, the director of the Social Cabinet, Tony Peña Guaba, assured that the government of President Abinader has committed itself to the most vulnerable and that in the midst of this aggressive economic pressure, the Dominican Republic is one of the countries that has not been fully reflected, as the government has made an impressive effort to curb this situation.
He also added that the authorities have developed assistance programs with the interventions that are developed through the social protection network, adding to this the multiplication of social aid and its amounts.

Rigorous purification process
The Dominican Government launches this bonus through the Social Policy Coordination Cabinet, in combination with the Supérate Program and the Social Subsidies Administrator (Adess).
As reported, the beneficiaries were selected by Siuben, after a rigorous filtering process in which one million citizens were identified who, due to their poverty, were considered to receive the economic incentive.
Thus, the Family Support Bonus is strictly aimed at male and female heads of households within the quality of life index I and II, who do not receive the ‘Aliméntate’ subsidy.
