The Ministry of Transport opens, from this Thursday (2), a public consultation that aims to modify the rules for obtaining the National Driver’s License (CNH).
The proposal, according to the folder, provides that the candidate can choose different ways to prepare for theoretical and practical examinations, which will remain mandatory, as a condition for the issuance of CNH.
The idea is to remove the obligation to hire self -schools by candidatesthat may choose to hire accredited autonomous instructors.
“Today, the high costs and bureaucracy prevent millions of people from having the qualification. 20 million Brazilians drive without wallet, because the current model is exclusionary, expensive and too long,” said Transport Minister Renan Filho, in a post on social networks to publicize the initiative.
“With the new proposal, the citizen will have more freedom to choose how to prepare for Detran tests, more personalized and accessible. The government’s goal is to democratize access to CNH, expand inclusion and make traffic safer in the country,” he added.
THE government expectation is that the flexibility in the formation of new drivers reduce the cost of CNHwhich can currently exceed R $ 3.2 thousand, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The project draft will be available for 30 days on the platform Participate + Braziland then will continue for analysis of the National Traffic Council (Contran). During this period, any citizen may send suggestions and contributions.
Changes
Among the proposed changes, is precisely the end of the minimum workload requirement of 20 hours of class. The candidate can choose how he will make his preparation by hiring a driver training center or an autonomous instructor.
The instructors should be accredited by the state traffic departments of the states. The National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran) will allow the training of these professionals for digital courses.
THE projection of the Federal Government is that the cost to obtain CNH could fall by up to 80%the result of the expansion of the forms of supply of theoretical formation, including with digital formats, and the exemption of the minimum workload in practical classes.
