Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader inaugurated this Tuesday the Hospital de beautiful villa, in the province of La Romana. The work had an investment of more than 1,000 million pesos.
Likewise, the president handed over the entrance to La Romana and seven kilometers of paved streets, sidewalks, added to the construction and repair of sidewalks. He also builds scuppers, speed bumps, street painting, among others.
In the municipality of Villa Hermosa, in addition to the hospital, Abinader also delivered new homes to families affected by Hurricane Fiona. This as part of the work to repair homes and improve the habitat.
Meanwhile, in Santo Domingo, the head of state inaugurated the Elevado de Andrés, Boca Chica and 8 kilometers from the edge of the Las Américas Highway. In addition, he attended the inauguration ceremony of the 200 MW Natural Gas Turbine, in Boca Chica, SIBA Energy.
Previously, in San Pedro de Macorís, the Head of State participated in the opening ceremony of the Center for Simulation, Skills, Abilities and Structured Objective Clinical Evaluation (CEDISEC MEDI-UCE). The center belongs to the Universidad Central del Este, with an investment that amounts to more than 50 million pesos.
For this week, the president plans to exhaust a wide schedule of inaugurations in the National District, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo West and North. Also in Puerto Plata, Santiago, Moca and San Francisco de Macorís.
Villa Hermosa Hospital
The Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla, accompanied the president in the delivery of the Hospital Municipal Villa Hermosa. He said that the new health center represents, for all the inhabitants of the area, a change in their life expectancy. That thanks to this construction they will have a modern health center that meets the highest standards.
Likewise, the director of the National Health Service, Mario Lama, described the hospital as the most important health work due to the characteristics of the hospital. Also for the services that it will offer to the inhabitants of the region and added that this center was a historical debt with La Romana. This for the years that its inhabitants waited for it to come true, despite the many claims.
The new hospital will have a capacity for 32 beds, as well as a modern intensive care area, comprehensive health, emergency, immunization and imaging unit. Attention to patients with tuberculosis, external consultation, pharmacy, among others. It will directly and indirectly impact more than 200 people in the area through the generation of new jobs.
Paved streets, hospital and houses of the Dominican Plan are Rebuilt
By handing over the almost 7 kilometers of paved streets and the houses, the governor stated that these works give great results. That in the different points of the national geography work continues to favor the most vulnerable.
While the Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla, reported that in the province of La Romana, the Government has rebuilt more than 800 homes. He added that with the Dominican Reconstruction Plan, almost 120 million pesos have been invested in home improvement and construction. In addition, he said that only in Villa Hermosa more than 600 have been rebuilt.
Roads and entrance of La Romana
Similarly, in La Romana, President Abinader together with the Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, inaugurated the Cumayasa-La Romana highway. Also the streets of the Villa Esperanza neighborhood, in Villa Hermosa. The claim of the residents had more than 20 years without any government giving it due attention. Likewise, the entrance to La Romana, duly renovated and enlarged, was delivered.
The Minister of Public Works assured that President Abinader is covering all regions of the country. He is inaugurating various works and added that with these works the entrance to La Romana and the municipality of Villa Hermosa are dignified. He added that the works that turn the highway into an avenue represent an investment of 43 million pesos, but its impact is more than economic.
Together with this delivery, he reported, the first stage of 24 kilometers was completed in different streets of different towns in the province. In addition, in a second stage, close to 500 million pesos will be invested for the asphalting of most of the streets. Also another 170 million are executed in the construction of sidewalks and curbs.
Also, the provincial governor, Jacqueline Fernández Brito, said that this entrance was destroyed and now with its construction it has been dignified by the Government.
Margarita Guerrero spoke on behalf of the community members and expressed that now the vehicles will be able to travel safely. She thanked the president for carrying out an empathetic government with those most in need and that she is knowing him by its fruits.
The blessing of the act was in charge of Pastor Julio César Castillo. He thanked the president for the transformation that he said he is making in Cienfuegos, Santiago. He added that for the first time in this nation justice is done.
Andrés fly ball, Boca Chica
President Abinader also inaugurated the Andrés and marginal roads that complete the road circuit from the José Francisco Peña Gomez international airport. This goes to the main entrance to the municipality of Boca Chica and is part of the expansion of the Las Américas Highway.
The project, which will benefit more than 160,000 people and expedite the transit of around 30,000 vehicles that pass through the toll, involved an investment of 51 million dollars. It was financed by the RD-Vial Trust and has been executed by the Las Américas Consortium.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, expressed that the funds collected from tolls are being invested in the people. That together with President Abinader, a new style of developing infrastructure works has been established. That the communities surrounding the places where they are built are taken into account, so that they give quality of life to the inhabitants.
The new infrastructure
In addition, he explained, the work represents an infrastructure that guarantees the safety of thousands of citizens from the nearby communities of La Caleta, Andrés and Boca Chica, as well as tens of thousands of people who travel daily in their cars or heavy vehicles on that highway. The route became one of the most dangerous hotspots in the country in terms of road accidents.
Similarly, the governor of the Santo Domingo province, Altagracia Julia Drullard, said that President Abinader has come to bring change and transform Boca Chica and the country.
In addition, the senator from Santo Domingo, Antonio Taveras, maintained that previous governments did not have the vision to invest in Boca Chica. But in this administration of President Abinader he advances and will shine again.
In structural terms, the Andrés interchange has 6 lanes with a bridge width of 25 meters and a ramp length of 564 meters. Also 33 prestressed concrete beams, with a beam length of 26 and 21.6 meters with a free height of 6 meters.
The marginal roads include the complementary drainage and lighting works, the respective sidewalks and curbs along their entire length. It is a dividing protection structure, the paving of both the highway and the marginal roads. At the intersection of the elevated road drawer, they took the corresponding security measures for cars and pedestrians with traffic light control. Also the corresponding signs, both on the elevated and throughout the complementary road circuit.
SIBA Energy, natural gas thermoelectric plant
To conclude his inauguration agenda, President Abinader attended the inauguration of the first phase of the SIBA Energy natural gas thermoelectric plant, located in the municipality of Boca Chica, which has a nominal capacity of 210 megawatts in its first stage of open loop operation. With the development of the combined cycle, it will reach a capacity of up to 280 megawatts.
During the construction of this first phase of the simple cycle, 400 direct jobs and 1,200 indirect jobs have been generated. EGE Haina, the largest public-private company in the country, will be the operator of this plant.
The president of SIBA Energy and vice president of EGE Haina, Luis Mejía Brache, affirmed that SIBA is the result of the association of three large companies, which has made it possible to comply in record time, through an investment of more than 220 million dollars. , the commitment to develop this plant, to contribute to national development with new, reliable and sustainable energy.
